چکیده

In the field of international law sea, continental shelf delimitation has always been one most controversial issues. Since definition Equity Principle in “United Nations Convention on Law Sea” (UNCLOS) is relatively vague, connotation depends accumulation and development judicial precedents, arbitration awards, state practice. The generally recognized by community become a part customary law. Only when all relevant circumstances are fully considered can fair result be obtained balance reasonable interests parties achieved.

Drilling Productivity on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

Recently, we have seen falling oil prices combined with sticky costs at a high level in the petroleum industry. This cause cost cuts and project postponements, thus challenging reserve replacement of oil companies and security of supply for consumers. Costs are particularly high for drilling. High rig rates are obviously important. In new contracts for high-spec semi rigs on the Norwegian Conti...

Any Dimension Polygonal Approximation Based on Equidistance Principle

In this paper, we present a new and more general version of polygonal approximation problem (GPA). Given an N−vertex polygonal curve P in the n-dimensional space <n, we approximate P by finding another M−vertex polygonal curve Ṗ , such that the vertices of Ṗ are an ordered subsequence of the curve points along P . The definition of the classical polygonal approximation problem (PA) demands the ...

Report of a Physical Oceanography Research Project over the Southern Continental Shelf of the Caspian Sea

Abstract The study presents monthly variations of seawater properties, monitoring water column stability and stratification over the southern shelf of the Caspian Sea which depends on collecting data. Field measurements were carried out during 13 cruises along the southern boundary of the sea. Spatial and temporal distributions of temperature, salinity and density were investigated. Monthl...

Observations of Cross-Shelf Flow Driven by Cross-Shelf Winds on the Inner Continental Shelf

Six-yr-long time series of winds, waves, and water velocity from a cabled coastal observatory in 12 m of water reveal the separate dependence of the cross-shelf velocity profile on cross-shelf and along-shelf winds, waves, and tides. During small waves, cross-shelf wind is the dominant mechanism driving the cross-shelf circulation after tides and tidal residual motions are removed. The along-sh...
